Wow, that was genuinely terrifying. Ambiance was so well done i was amazed. Things getting more and more creepy as you went in couldn't have been done better. ESPECIALLY loved the effects on the poster.

I made a video on your game if you're interested :)

excited to see what you do next! this game was genuinely horrifying.

it was a really good and interesting game

Hey yo good game!! Even though the game is simple it left me stuck to find out more about, I really liked the story, even if the game is from 2020 it would make a good continuation, anyway I really liked it, good work

Keep it up

Gameplay PT-BR

Okay, the great use to audio transitions from the heavy wind to the dead silence, always think a good audio can be so much scarier then a visual.
Although, that end GOT me.. I though I got away! At least I didn't die to the first one!

Looking For The Lost - Hamilton

Great game! The end made me jump lol. Hope to see more from you! :)

Loved this horror experience, great mood. I played twice just to get a closer look at the monster :)

Simply amazing. Keep up the good work.

Atmospheric game with solid environment and creepy sound effects compiled together well with scary events. Really enjoyed this experience. Thank you for making this! 1st game.

I had a lot of fun playing!  Thanks for a fun game!

I had a lot of fun with this ^^ I love the grungy style to it

I have some trouble playing the game. It always crashes after I get into the door at the start. Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

Hi, sorry to hear you've been having trouble. It doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong. I've taken a look through the level transition code again and I'm afraid I haven't been able to replicate your issue, though the problem in your case is most likely the game failing to find the next level or an issue with game data present on the second level. Unfortunately the only advice I can offer at this point is to attempt to re-download the game data, or run the executable as an administrator. I'm sorry that I can't be of more help, but it's been a long time since I've touched this project and my knowledge of troubleshooting beyond Unity is limited.

Thank you very much for the advice. I'll try it and see.

For your first attempt this is marvelous and easily one of the best things I played from this site. Pure atmosphere that leaves you chilled.

November (Allison?), I played your game because I saw Decestia rate it 5 stars (I loved “In the Mountains” by him) and he was not wrong, this is gorgeous. All the small details and just weird/horrifying ideas, the very subtle audio cues and the soundtrack, it was all ramping up to a truly surprising ending. I loved this.
The proof: I start out chatting away and then get quieter and quieter the deeper I go :D

Sorry, Allison... This was a super creepy game with some amazingly freaky moments. I especially love the visuals found in/near the messages and logs. Great game, 7.9/10.

Do have a small bug report though, I think all the game's audio cuts out if you try to press Start again immediately after completing it once. So my second playthrough didn't have audio. Could possibly have been a headphone problem on my end though

Loved it!  The exploration with the eerie silence and darkness was so perfect.  Good graphics, and ending.

Nice little game, I really liked the idea with poster!

Great job, man! Or woman, it doesn't matter. I got really scared at the computer part! Keep it up!

the scare at the end made jump so much, good game

I loved The Grudge sound effects the monster had going and the rusty aesthetic but my favourite part was definitely the subtler elements like the changing of the poster. So cool.

😊👍

This is a pretty good game. The atmosphere is very well done, especially the noises the monster makes. I played it for this video of mine; it's the second game, at about 3:50.

This was an amazing game with phenomenal atmosphere, incredible audio, and fantastic environment design. Thank you for the terrifying experience and I hope you keep up the awesome work.

AWESOME GAME !!!

GAMEPLAY WALKTHROUGH

This short horror gem of game is definitely going into my Favorite's Collection here on itch.io. I don't want to forget the moments I had playing this game and I want to find more like it! Critique/review is continued below.

Gameplay footage beings @ 09:37

I had such a difficult time progressing out of fear of the unknown; how on earth am I ever going to complete much longer and intricate, similar games (like Lost In Vivo)?! The little visual and audio nuances (such as the face on the missing poster degrading over time and sliding metal chairs) were very well done. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up when I first saw that Poloroid picture.

* EDIT: Now that I'm thinking about it more, the old school PS1 style, Silent Hill-esque graphics only intensified the fear!

I'm a huge fan of stories centered around the supernatural and this reminded me very much of two things: H. P Lovecraft's fictional work and strange and confounding mysteries surrounding the entire The Dyatlov Pass incident.

Following in hopes that there's more to come ~

Nice like subscribe share

Done very well, the atmosphere was awesome.. and the playtime is perfect. It was really scary at the basement part but I was recording a random video of it just BECAUSE YES for my friend and she couldn't see I'm so easily scared so I acted like it's normal. Good job on that game!

Tactfully executed, and absolutely terrifying. Great job!

My favorite part is... that this missing person is NOT the main character's love interest! I never see people in these games going after their "best friend." Job well done, and there weren't even any screams or loud noises.

That was terrifying. Well done!
If this is your first foray into horror then goddamn, can't wait to see what you come up with next.

It's scary to find it alone

No God🤣🤣 Pls Nooo! LINK👇👇

Pretty cool! The picture of the person on the computer was pretty scary but the thing that got me the most was the polaroid picture on one of the tables of a person with no arms and an orange shirt. My theory on this game is that a weird anomaly or disease of some kind was being monitored and studied at this lab. Something happened and now the anomaly/disease has ravaged the facility, rusting everything and killing, mangling or turning the staff into abominations.

Hi! What fonts did you use in the game? I love them! Especially this font:

And if it's just a normal font, what did you do to make it seem so old-school computer-like?

Hey, that was a Silent Hill type Font made by Louie Woodhouse.

Oh thank you very much!

a bit much reading, but solid admosphere! was made aware of it by this youtuber:
